This person is essential to our vision and mission, helping to create an environment where members & their children are welcomed, and supported in their faith journey with fun, play, and delight in our good God! Details. Work Location: 2nd Church, 525 Cheshire Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49505 Work from Home: Due to the nature of the duties and responsibilities, this is not primarily a work-from-home position. It may be possible for some of the preparatory work to be completed remotely. Hours: Sundays 9:30am-noon. Some prep hours during the week. Compensation: $50 per week. Reporting: The 2nd Kids Coordinator reports to the Lead Pastor. Duties and Responsibilities. This role is the first face of welcome & connection for many of our incoming families and kiddos. Responsibilities span a wide range of duties including: Sunday Mornings: Lead 2nd Kids of all ages (tinies through elementary school) in their time of worship, play, and learning. Able to effectively lead and care for children of different ages. Lesson Planning: Develop and implement a simple ministry plan for 2nd Kids, ensuring it is applicable to varied ages, or can be amended for a group of kids that may be made up of different ages from week-to-week. Weekly Prep: Effectively utilize the in-room tv for leading worship song videos, lessons, and so on. Effectively prepare and maintain lesson activities, games, and materials as needed. Supply and Room Management: Keep the 2nd Kids Classroom and supplies tidy, organized and ready for weekend service. Qualities and Skills desired. No candidate checks ALL of the boxes, but maybe you check the right ones? Deep love for Jesus and a desire to help all kids know they are loved no matter what! A love for kids of varied ages and delight in them as developing people. A welcoming presence that invites participation and an eagerness to see the programming grow. Experience developing lesson plans or teaching a curriculum is a plus. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Comfortable interacting with church members, visitors, and parents in a welcoming manner. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. To Apply.
