Accounting Manager

Job Overview Fraser Steel is seeking a highly agile, curious, and technically sound Accounting Manager to join our growing manufacturing company. This is a dynamic role for a professional who thrives in environments undergoing positive transformation. We have recently implemented Epicor Kinetic as our core ERP and General Ledger system and are likely to have a financial integration of a newly acquired business. The ideal candidate possesses 7 to 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, a deep understanding of US GAAP, and a proven track record of successfully leading a financial period-end close. Beyond technical expertise, we seek a professional with strong learning agility who asks insightful questions, actively seeks to optimize workflows, and enjoys mentoring and training others.

Responsibilities

Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in accordance with US GAAP. Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Support manufacturing accounting processes, including inventory valuation, cost accounting, and variance analysis. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer invoicing, supplier payments, and past-due account follow-up. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls. Support and optimize Epicor Kinetic ERP system processes, including automation and workflow improvements. Support financial and system integration of future acquisitions, with the potential to supervise and develop 1–2 accounting staff members as the company grows. Provide accounting guidance and training to cross-functional teams as needed. Other duties as assigned. Skills Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including financial period-end close processes. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting. Experience with ERP systems and accounting software. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support others. Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to change, and identify opportunities for process improvement. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Accounting experience within a manufacturing environment, including inventory and cost accounting. Experience with Epicor Kinetic or similar manufacturing ERP systems. Experience in multi-entity, private equity-backed, or acquisition environments. Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or training accounting staff. Experience with ERP implementations, system integrations, or process improvements.
