Accreditation Consultant
Company: HIMpros Position: Full-Time Location: Remote HIMpros is seeking an experienced Accreditation Consultant for a full-time remote opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cancer registry abstracting, Commission on Cancer (CoC) accreditation, and cancer program operations. This role requires hands-on experience with Metriq and MEDITECH, along with expertise in PRQ submissions and Cancer Committee activities.
Key Responsibilities
Perform accurate and timely cancer registry abstracting, casefinding, and follow-up in accordance with national and state reporting standards. Support Commission on Cancer (CoC) accreditation activities, including survey preparation, documentation, and ongoing compliance. Prepare, review, and submit the Pre-Review Questionnaire (PRQ) and supporting accreditation documentation. Coordinate and support Cancer Committee meetings, including agendas, minutes, required documentation, and follow-up activities. Monitor compliance with CoC standards and assist with identifying and resolving accreditation deficiencies. Utilize Metriq cancer registry software and MEDITECH electronic medical records for data collection, abstracting, and reporting. Assist with cancer program quality improvement initiatives, reporting, and data validation. Maintain established productivity, accuracy, and reporting deadlines.
Required Qualifications
Active Oncology Data Specialist–Certified (ODS-C) credential. Previous hands-on cancer registry abstracting experience. Demonstrated experience with CoC accreditation standards and survey preparation. Experience preparing and submitting PRQs. Experience supporting Cancer Committee meetings and accreditation documentation. Proficiency with both Metriq and MEDITECH required. Strong knowledge of AJCC staging, SEER guidelines, STORE standards, and cancer registry reporting requirements. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
