Applications Systems Programmer

Defines scope and objectives for small- to mid-size projects and develops or modifies processes to solve business and technical problems. Responsibilities include specifying, designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, implementing, and maintaining programs.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze, design, code, test, document, implement, and maintain solutions for complex requests and project impacts. Participate on project teams with business users and other analyst/programmers; assist with problem definition and resolution and develop solution outlines as needed. Create and monitor project plans and schedules for small- to mid-size projects when assigned. Rotate on-call coverage with team members; troubleshoot production problems and document and communicate resolutions. Interact with customers to define, clarify, and interpret requirements for complex application enhancements and projects. Assist in training other programmer/analysts and review their work as needed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 4 (four) years of experience using and maintaining applications software. Knowledge of relevant programming languages and tools. Understanding of programming languages and systems design concepts. Strong logic and analytical ability, communication, organization, interpersonal, and project management skills. Knowledge of the applicable systems, applications, or business area, including systems analysis and design.
