Automation Tester Contractor
Position Summary Contractor Hybrid : Delaware OR Texas Work you'll do We’re seeking a Automation Tester Contractor to support software quality across web applications, APIs, and performance-testing scenarios. You’ll work with engineering, product, and QA teams to identify quality risks, automate testing, investigate defects, and support reliable releases. Experience validating AI/ML outputs—particularly OCR/ICR extraction—is a plus.
Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and execute automated web tests using Selenium and/or Cypress. Test REST and SOAP APIs using Postman and/or SoapUI. Run performance tests with JMeter, analyze results, and identify potential bottlenecks. Write SQL queries to validate data, investigate issues, and reconcile application results. Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and regression suites. Log, track, and retest defects in JIRA; communicate testing status, risks, and findings. Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA team members throughout the delivery lifecycle. Support automated test integration into CI/CD pipelines. Document testing tools and processes. Where applicable, assess AI/ML outputs, including OCR/ICR accuracy, confidence scores, and threshold-based outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Experience with Selenium and/or Cypress test automation. API testing experience with Postman and/or SoapUI. Performance-testing experience with JMeter. Ability to write SQL queries for data validation and investigation. Experience using JIRA for defect tracking and test coordination. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate and manage multiple testing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience testing AI/ML outputs. Familiarity with OCR/ICR workflows and accuracy measures. Experience validating confidence scores and threshold-based outcomes. Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines The expected pay range for this contract assignment is $65-$70 per hour. The exact pay rate will vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be determined by the third-party whose employees provide services to Deloitte.
