Buyer/Sales
Company Description
Sortera Technologies, Inc. applies advanced artificial intelligence, data analytics, and sensor technologies to transform the industrial scrap metal recycling and reuse industry. The company’s vision is to enable near-complete reuse of metals recovered from end-of-life products, supporting the manufacturing of similar products and strengthening domestic supply chains. By operating highly automated sorting facilities, Sortera accurately sorts metal alloys at lower cost, making recycled materials viable feedstocks for U.S. manufacturing. Its innovations deliver cost, quality, and performance benefits while significantly improving energy efficiency, reducing reliance on imported metals, and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Sortera’s approach supports local manufacturing, shortens procurement times, reduces landfill use, and contributes to a safer, more sustainable environment. Role Description This is a full-time remote Buyer/Sales role responsible for sourcing Tweak/Twitch/Zorba feedstock and managing sales of sorted metal alloys. The Buyer/Sales professional will identify and qualify suppliers, negotiate purchase agreements, and ensure consistent material supply aligned with operational and quality requirements. On the sales side, this role will build and maintain relationships with domestic manufacturers, develop pricing proposals, and manage contracts to meet revenue and margin targets. Daily activities include market research, analyzing pricing and demand trends, preparing quotes and sales presentations, coordinating logistics with operations teams, and maintaining accurate records in CRM and procurement systems. The role also involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to optimize inventory levels, support forecasting, and help refine commercial strategies in line with Sortera’s sustainability and technology-driven mission.
