Case manager for criminal-defense law firm
As case manager for The Olen Firm, P.C., you would work one-on-one with the attorney to assist numerous clients facing misdemeanor, felony, and restraining-order cases in Los Angeles and the surrounding counties. For the time being, the job would be remote with some in-person time for meetings and related matters, though the job may go in-office in the future. This firm was founded on the idea of giving clients the best legal representation possible with care and compassion. So candidates should share in that vision. The firm serves both English and Spanish-speaking clients, so bilingual applicants are preferred. Previous experience in criminal defense is also a plus. Job duties Coordinate with clients with intake, contracts, other necessary documents, case updates, billing, and other matters. Liaise with courts, clerks, prosecutors, other attorneys, experts, and others as needed to prepare cases, obtain necessary information, and check on filings. Prepare and file basic court forms and other documents for cases. Assist in preparing cases for litigation, including exhibit and witness lists, preparing evidence for use in court, and working one-on-one with the attorney. Organize and maintain case documents, including use of Clio case management system and Google Workspace.
Qualifications
Previous criminal-defense or similar experience is a plus. Bilingual is a plus. Minimum of a high-school diploma or GED. At least 1-2 years of experience as an assistant, case manager, secretary, paralegal, or similar position (legal-related preferred but not required). Self-starter. The ideal candidate needs to be able to anticipate the needs of the firm or attorney and proactively solve them. Professional.
