Mainframe Engineer with CDC Connect W2 only. No visa sponsorship available. No 3rd parties or subcontractors. Duration: Long-Term or Contract-to-Hire Compensation: $70-$73/hr Location: Fully remote in the USA. No travel. The ideal candidate will have deep Mainframe Engineering experience combined with hands-on knowledge of CDC Connect (Precisely Data replication tool), ETL processes, cloud, and PostgreSQL databases. This individual will play a critical role in helping migrate and replicate large volumes of claims data from legacy mainframe systems into AWS-based cloud environments supporting enterprise data lake initiatives. The team is building a large-scale Claims Data Lake in AWS to enable cloud-native consumer applications, analytics, and future modernization efforts. The consultant will be responsible for configuring, managing, and optimizing the Precisely data replication platform while supporting data movement, transformation, and integration across mainframe and cloud environments. We use Precisely CDC Connect. We are looking for someone with a good understanding of mainframe DB2 databases who can analyze the data in those tables as needed, configure and implement workflows in Precisely CDC Connect, and replicate data from mainframe CDC logs to AWS Kafka through Precisely CDC Connect. This person should also be able to troubleshoot issues during incidents on this data replication workflow.
Responsibilities
Configure, administer, and support the Precisely replication platform Design and execute data replication processes from Mainframe environments into AWS Support large-scale claims data migration initiatives Troubleshoot and resolve data replication issues across source and target platforms Analyze Mainframe data structures and integration requirements Perform ETL and data transformation activities Load and integrate replicated data into PostgreSQL cloud databases Support development of the enterprise AWS Claims Data Lake Collaborate with engineering leadership and business stakeholders on modernization initiatives Assist in defining replication best practices, performance optimization, and operational processes Partner with team members to ensure scalability and reliability of data movement solutions
Required Qualifications
- Mainframe Engineering, Mainframe Development, or Mainframe Software Engineering
