Job title: Chief Financial Officer Industry: Insurance Description North American Chief Financial Officer for Group Insurance Firm Risk We have been retained to appoint a Chief Financial Officer for a rated property and casualty carrier on the East Coast who are on a trajectory to hitting $800M GWP across their Risk Carriers. Whilst performing this build our client is now building out across all speciality lines too. The opportunity There are multiple Risk Carriers that you will have oversight on, which are well capitalised, carries no debt and is backed by a global specialty insurance group with direct access to the London market. You report to the Chief Executive and work closely with the Group CFO. You are in the room with the rating agency, the state regulators and the auditors. What you will do Own statutory accounting and all regulatory and NAIC filings, with management and group reporting alongside Own the capital plan, including risk-based capital and the rating agency capital model, tested against catastrophe scenarios Lead reinsurance accounting, recoverables and collateral, and work with the appointed actuary on reserves Oversee a conservative investment portfolio and liquidity Lead the financial relationship with the rating agency, the regulator and the auditors Build the finance team, the systems and the controls Who we are looking for A finance leader from a property and casualty carrier, with statutory accounting at the core of your record Insurance Risk Carrier Experience Hands-on experience of preparing and signing off statutory annual and quarterly statements Experience of a rating agency review and a state regulatory examination. A clear understanding of how a catastrophe-exposed property book consumes capital A builder who has set up or rebuilt a finance function in a lean business A sitting carrier CFO, or a strong deputy ready for the top seat A qualified accountant Location This is a remote role where a preference after time in the role would be for the successful incumbent to then move closer to their East Coast Offices What is on offer A senior leadership seat at a rated carrier at the start of its growth, a competitive package, and a long-term incentive tied to the value you help create. Salary Range: $300,000 - $550,000 Base + Bonus + Stock
