Chief Learning Officer

Role Description The Chief Learning Officer is a full-time, remote position responsible for setting the overall learning and development vision and strategy across the organization. This role oversees the design, implementation, and evaluation of learning programs, including onboarding, role-specific training, leadership development, and continuous learning initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include partnering with executive leadership and business units to identify capability gaps, aligning learning objectives with organizational goals, and managing learning budgets and vendor relationships. The Chief Learning Officer leads a team of learning professionals, guides the development of digital and instructor-led curricula, implements learning technologies, and uses data and analytics to measure impact and refine programs. This role also ensures that learning practices are inclusive, accessible, and compliant with relevant standards and regulations.

Qualifications

Strong expertise in Training & Development and Training, with a track record of building and scaling organizational learning programs. Proficiency in Instructional Design and Curriculum Development to create effective, engaging, and measurable learning experiences. Experience in Leadership Development, including designing programs that build leadership capabilities at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated strategic thinking, business acumen, and ability to align learning initiatives with organizational objectives. Proven experience leading and mentoring distributed teams, ideally in a remote or hybrid environment. Comfort with learning technologies, LMS platforms, and data-driven evaluation of learning outcomes. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPTD, CPLP, ATD credentials) are beneficial.
