Chief Technology Officer

Role Description The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at KAPITAL is a full-time remote role responsible for defining and executing the company’s overall technology vision and roadmap. The CTO oversees software development teams, guides product and platform architecture, and aligns IT strategy with business objectives. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading technical planning, reviewing and prioritizing development initiatives, ensuring secure and scalable systems, and collaborating with product, operations, and leadership to deliver high-quality digital solutions. The CTO also manages technology budgets, mentors engineering leaders, establishes best practices, and monitors emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement. This role requires close coordination across departments to ensure technology supports growth, efficiency, and a strong user experience.

Qualifications

Strong background in Software Development and Product Development, with experience leading engineering teams and shipping complex digital products. Proficiency in IT Strategy and Architecture, including designing scalable, secure, and resilient systems aligned with business goals. Demonstrated Project Management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver technology initiatives on time and within budget. Proven experience in technology leadership roles, preferably as CTO, VP of Engineering, or similar in high-growth or tech-driven organizations. Solid understanding of modern cloud infrastructure, security best practices, and DevOps methodologies. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. Track record of building and mentoring diverse, inclusive, high-performing technical teams in remote or distributed environments. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
