Cloud DevOps Engineer Location: REMOTE duration: 2 to 3 months (Maybe longer) or could be part of longer-term conversion possible For a cloud-based engineer with EKS Anywhere experience, the role would typically align to a Cloud Engineer / Kubernetes Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer profile. Key clarification: "on Prim" should likely be "on-prem" — meaning the person has experience running Kubernetes/EKS Anywhere in both cloud environments and on-premises infrastructure. Role Focus
- Build, deploy, and manage Kubernetes-based platforms using Amazon EKS Anywhere
- Support hybrid environments across AWS cloud and on-prem data centers
- Help modernize infrastructure and enable containerized application deployments
Core Technical Skills
- Strong experience with Kubernetes
- Hands-on experience with Amazon EKS / EKS Anywhere
- AWS cloud services and architecture
- Hybrid cloud and on-prem infrastructure experience
- Containerization using Docker
- Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
- CI/CD pipeline tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
- Linux systems administration
- Networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, firewalls, routing, and VPNs
EKS Anywhere-Specific Experience
- Deploying and managing EKS Anywhere clusters
- Supporting Kubernetes clusters on bare metal, VMware vSphere, or other on-prem platforms
- Managing cluster upgrades, scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Understanding of hybrid connectivity between AWS and on-prem environments
- Experience with GitOps tools such as Flux or Argo CD is helpful
Preferred Experience
- Monitoring/logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Splunk, or ELK
- Security controls for Kubernetes workloads
- IAM, RBAC, secrets management, and policy enforcement
- Experience supporting production enterprise environments
- Scripting with Python, Bash, or PowerShell
Soft Skills
- Ability to troubleshoot complex cloud/on-prem issues
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Comfortable working remotely with cross-functional teams
- Experience supporting enterprise clients or managed services environments
