Commercial Lines Production Underwriter

ABOUT THE ROLE We are currently partnering with a well-established, financially strong Property & Casualty insurance organization that is looking to add a Field Production Underwriter to support continued Middle Market Accounts growth throughout Michigan. If you're a commercial underwriter who enjoys getting out from behind the desk, building agency relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and influencing business results, this could be a strong career move. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Manage and grow relationships with independent agency partners throughout either Eastern Michigan or Western Michigan based upon location.. Evaluate and underwrite Middle Market Commercial accounts across a variety of industries. Partner closely with agencies to drive profitable new business growth. Serve as a trusted underwriting resource and market representative within your territory. Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Claims, and Loss Control teams to support agency success. Balance production goals with disciplined underwriting and profitability objectives. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Commercial Lines underwriting experience, preferably within Middle Market business. Strong agency relationship management and business development skills. Proven ability to evaluate risk while driving profitable growth. Knowledge of commercial coverages, pricing, and underwriting principles. CPCU, AU, or other insurance designations are a plus.
