About brighthush

brighthush is a trailblazing force in the healthcare technology landscape, redefining how patients across the United States discover, access, and afford life‑saving medications. By marrying cutting‑edge data analytics with a patient‑first philosophy, we connect individuals to the most effective prescription assistance programs, discount cards, and insurance navigation tools available. Our mission is simple yet profound: empower patients to take control of their health without the financial burden that often stands in the way. At brighthush, compassionate service is not just a value—it’s the foundation of every interaction. We serve millions of patients each year, helping them secure the medications they need while navigating complex insurance and financial landscapes. Our platform is built on trust, transparency, and a relentless commitment to improving health outcomes for underserved communities.

Why This Role Matters

As a Remote Customer Service Specialist, you become the frontline advocate for patients seeking relief from the rising costs of prescription medications. Your voice, tone, and expertise directly influence whether a patient can access life‑saving drugs, manage chronic conditions, or maintain their health without undue stress. In a world where healthcare costs are escalating, your role transcends a traditional job—it’s a mission to make a tangible difference in people’s lives. Every call you handle, every email you reply to, and every chat you conduct has the potential to change a patient’s trajectory, reduce their financial anxiety, and improve their overall well‑being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Interaction: Engage with patients through inbound and outbound phone calls, email, and live chat. Deliver clear, compassionate explanations of program requirements, eligibility criteria, and next steps.
  • Eligibility Assessment: Gather and verify financial records, insurance benefits, and supporting documentation. Apply program guidelines to determine eligibility for prescription assistance, discount programs, and patient assistance funds.
  • Order Processing: Initiate and track orders for specialty medications, secure necessary authorizations, and document each step accurately in our integrated system.
  • Escalation Management: Identify complex adverse events or product quality complaints, document them meticulously, and follow established escalation protocols to ensure timely resolution.
  • Compliance Assurance: Adhere to all medication ordering, distribution, and communication regulations, including HIPAA, FDA, and state‑specific guidelines. Maintain audit‑ready records at all times.
  • Data Integrity: Maintain meticulous records across multiple databases. Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with privacy standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide actionable feedback on process enhancements, participate in training sessions, and stay current on program updates and industry best practices.
  • Performance Metrics: Meet or exceed key performance indicators such as call handling time, customer satisfaction scores, and eligibility conversion rates.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a call‑center or customer service environment, preferably in healthcare or related fields.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information in a simple, empathetic manner.
  • Excellent active listening and probing question techniques to uncover customer needs and concerns.
