Who We Are Looking For We are looking for a Credit Analyst who wants to build a career in homebuilder finance and residential real estate lending and is excited by the opportunity to learn how credit decisions are made from the inside. The right person enjoys working with numbers, digging into the details, asking thoughtful questions, and turning financial information into useful insights. You take pride in accurate work, communicate clearly, and are comfortable managing multiple priorities without losing sight of the details. Your work will include: Building and maintaining financial models for prospective loans, including cash flow projections, collateral valuation, and sensitivity analysis. Reviewing and verifying borrower financial statements, rent rolls, budgets, and third-party reports. Preparing loan summaries and supporting exhibits for investment committee review. Researching market data, comparable sales, and local development conditions to support deal sizing. Tracking covenant compliance and financial reporting deadlines across the existing loan portfolio. Updating asset management models as loans draw down, amortize, or otherwise change status. Identifying budget overruns, schedule delays, or other conditions that could affect loan performance. Maintaining accurate loan files and information within Avila’s loan servicing and reporting systems. Preparing recurring internal reports on portfolio performance and pipeline activity. This role provides the opportunity to see how different parts of the lending process come together, from the initial evaluation of an opportunity through closing and ongoing portfolio management. For someone early in their career, that exposure creates an opportunity to develop a broader understanding of real estate lending while contributing meaningful work from the beginning. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, economics, or a related field. 0 to 2 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial real estate, lending, or a related area of finance. Relevant internship experience is a plus. Strong Excel skills and comfort building and working with financial models. Working knowledge of real estate finance concepts, including loan structures, collateral, and basic construction or development budgets. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple loan files and priorities while maintaining accuracy. Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize financial findings for people outside the credit team. A self-starter mindset, comfortable working independently, taking initiative, and staying organized in a fast-paced environment while remaining connected with the team remotely. What Success Looks Like Success in this role means becoming someone the team can rely on for accurate analysis, thoughtful work, and consistent follow-through. You will continue building your understanding of real estate credit while developing the judgment and technical skills needed to take on greater responsibility over time. You will ask questions, learn from the people around you, and become increasingly confident in evaluating opportunities and understanding what drives loan performance. Most importantly, you will contribute to the quality of the decisions Avila makes.
