# Lead Engineer ## About the Role Brooksource is seeking a Lead Engineer for a fully remote, US-based position. This role combines hands-on application engineering with technical leadership and solution design across SaaS platforms, custom applications, APIs, integrations, automation, and production implementation. You will lead technical delivery from design through production, contribute to solution architecture and design reviews, mentor developers, maintain implementation quality, and support applications in production. The role works closely with engineering, architecture, operational, and build teams to communicate technical decisions, risks, and delivery progress. ## Key Responsibilities Lead hands-on development and technical delivery of application products and services from design through production. Contribute to solution architecture, design reviews, and conceptual and detailed technical design documentation. Develop and support SaaS platforms, custom applications, APIs, integrations, and automation. Provide technical leadership through developer mentoring, code reviews, and engineering best practices. Partner with architecture, operational, and build teams on testing, implementation, upgrade, and patch strategies. Monitor implementation quality and communicate delivery progress and technical risks. Support Tier 3 application issues, troubleshooting, change activities, upgrades, and production implementations. Collaborate across engineering, architecture, and operational teams to maintain clear communication of technical decisions and risks. Provide a software-engineering perspective on system requirements and technical solutions. ## Required Qualifications Strong hands-on application engineering experience with SaaS, custom applications, APIs, integrations, automation, and production implementation. Proven technical leadership experience, including mentoring developers, influencing code quality, and guiding engineering practices without requiring formal people-management authority. Experience contributing to solution architecture and technical design reviews. Experience supporting production applications, including advanced troubleshooting, upgrades, patches, and implementation activities. Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, architecture, and operational teams. Ability to clearly communicate technical risks, decisions, and delivery progress.
