# Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer ## About the Role We are seeking a Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer to help build and scale a next-generation data platform for a globally recognized Media & Entertainment organization. This remote contract role will focus on designing, building, and operating foundational data infrastructure that supports complex data flows, ingestion pipelines, internal metadata applications, and unstructured contract data. You will work closely with data pipeline developers, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to shape the technical roadmap and own infrastructure initiatives from concept through production. The role requires strong AWS expertise, experience with real-time and batch data processing, and the ability to work independently in an evolving environment. ## Key Responsibilities Design and evolve data architecture for real-time and batch data movement, primarily using AWS. Build normalization and transformation pipelines across approximately 10 disparate data sources while preserving raw data. Implement and manage streaming and batch data ingestion using Kafka, Flink, Debezium, and related technologies. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for data pipeline components using Terraform. Support near-real-time data movement alongside batch and export-based ingestion. Partner with engineering and business stakeholders to define data retention strategies for historical analysis and forecasting. Advise on infrastructure architecture across related projects to maximize reuse and efficiency. Collaborate with CRM-focused business solutions teams on data integration, including Salesforce. Contribute to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team culture. ## Required Qualifications Strong hands-on experience with AWS as a primary cloud environment. Experience with streaming and change-data-capture technologies such as Kafka, Flink, and Debezium. Experience working with SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL or similar source databases. Experience with lakehouse architecture and technologies such as Apache Iceberg, AWS Glue, and Lake Formation. Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code. Experience with GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD tools. Proficiency in Java or Python for data application development. Experience designing data normalization and transformation logic across multiple data sources. Experience designing data retention strategies for downstream analytics and forecasting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. ## Preferred Qualifications Experience integrating with CRM platforms such as Salesforce as a data source or destination. Familiarity with DuckDB or similar analytical query tools. Experience working with large-scale datasets and modern cloud data platforms.
