# Data Engineer ## About the Role SRS Acquiom is expanding its Platform Engineering team and is seeking a Data Engineer to help build and evolve its internal data platform. The platform enables governed access to data for software development and data analytics teams while supporting secure, resilient, available, scalable, and self-service data consumption. In this role, you will work with architects and engineering teams to design, develop, and implement data platform capabilities, improve data pipelines, maintain software services and configurations, and provide technical guidance on secure data platform adoption. The role combines data engineering, cloud infrastructure, data architecture, security, governance, and platform automation. ## Key Responsibilities Participate in initiatives while ensuring compliance, security, and regulatory requirements are satisfied. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to data platforms and engineering. Collaborate with engineering peers to design and build data platform capabilities, automations, and tool configurations. Develop solutions that enable product engineering and BI/Analytics teams to securely consume an extensible and scalable data platform. Establish governance and consistent operational models across data platform solutions. Provide objective, practical, and relevant technical guidance and build partnerships across business and Engineering teams. Directly support the use and delivery of data platform services across the organization. Ensure data platform solutions follow established security and compliance controls. Maintain existing and future software services, code, and configurations. Recommend improvements to existing architecture. Help implement new technologies for future deployment. Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer, and mentorship related to data platform adoption. Help implement and improve data pipelines. Perform other duties as assigned. ## Required Qualifications B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience. 4+ years of experience with strong working knowledge of SQL and understanding of data models. 4+ years of experience with or strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational database design and programming, including stored procedures, functions, and PL/pgSQL. Experience with or working knowledge of AWS data infrastructure, including: S3 RDS Managed Streaming Kafka Lake Formation Glue Glue Data Catalog Athena QuickSight DataZone Experience with systems engineering and/or software development using Java, JavaScript, Python, or PHP. Experience with modern API platform design, security practices, and data architectures, including: Event-driven architecture Change data capture Pub/sub ## Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud solution design patterns, including: CI/CD Docker Kubernetes Containers Microservices Distributed caching Experience with Terraform scripting. Experience integrating data from third-party platforms such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Workday, or Pendo. Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Elasticsearch, or OpenTelemetry. Experience with ETL processes, projects, and tooling such as Boomi. Understanding of systems hardening and secure systems configuration. Experience with regulatory compliance standards such as HIPAA, PCI, SEC, or FINRA. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical information clearly to different audiences. Experience: 4+ years of experience with strong SQL knowledge and data models. 4+ years of experience with or strong knowledge of relational database design and programming. ## Work Arrangement & Schedule Work Arrangement: Fully remote Location: Continental United States Travel: In-person visits to the Denver headquarters are required, averaging up to three times per year. Schedule: Standard business hours, with occasional nights and weekends. Employment Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship. SRS Acquiom is unable to sponsor or assume sponsorship of employment visas. ## Compensation & Benefits Salary: $125,000–$140,000, depending on experience level.
