About the Role
The Data Science Research Scientist will co-develop data solutions driven by Earth observation technologies, integrate Geo-AI workflows, and support cross-cutting technical needs across the EarthRISE program. The position involves collaboration with NASA centers, research publication, and contributions to workforce development. The successful candidate will bring expertise in computer science, remote sensing, machine learning, cloud computing, and the integration of large language models (LLMs) with Geo-AI applications.
Key Responsibilities
Co-develop data solutions using Earth observation data Integrate Geo-AI workflows into EarthRISE research and program activities Support cross-cutting technical and research needs across the EarthRISE program Collaborate with NASA centers on research and development activities Publish research findings and contribute to the dissemination of project results Support workforce development initiatives related to the program Ideal Qualifications and Technical Background Strong background in Computer Science Experience or expertise in remote sensing Knowledge of machine learning Background in cloud computing Understanding of large language models (LLMs) and their integration with Geo-AI workflows
