Digital Brand, Web & Product Design Intern
Golden Coast Social Club is a new social community for women in South Orange County designed to make it easier to meet new people, try new things and actually make the plans. As Golden Coast grows from its first community events, we're looking for a creative college student to help build our digital home from the ground up — beginning with our website and member experience, while helping us explore what a future Golden Coast mobile app could look like. Our initial focus is creating a thoughtful, engaging website and community experience through Wix. Longer term, Golden Coast has the potential to expand into additional chapters and a dedicated mobile app connecting members with events, activities, groups and one another. This is a hands-on opportunity to work directly with the founder, have meaningful creative input and help shape that digital foundation from an early stage. What You'll Work On:Website & Member Experience Design and build the Golden Coast Social Club website using Wix Help shape the member journey from social media → website → events → community Create pages for events, community, joining Golden Coast and future offerings Build a thoughtful, mobile-first user experience Apply and expand Golden Coast's existing visual identity across the website Help organize site navigation and information architecture Set up email capture and other community-growth touchpoints Assist with basic SEO and website analytics Explore Wix features for events, groups, members and mobile community experiences Develop a digital structure that could eventually support multiple Golden Coast chapters Future App & Digital Product ConceptsAs the website foundation develops, you'll also have the opportunity to help explore the longer-term Golden Coast digital experience. Depending on progress, interests and business needs, this may include: Helping define what members would want from a future Golden Coast mobile app Brainstorming features such as event discovery and registration, member profiles, interest-based groups, chapter selection, activities and community interaction Mapping potential member journeys and user flows Creating early wireframes, mockups or prototypes in Figma or similar tools Thinking through how the website, member platform and future app could work together Helping gather and organize member feedback to inform future product decisions Exploring how the digital experience could scale as Golden Coast expands into additional communities The goal of the internship is not to build a production mobile app in 8–10 weeks. Instead, you'll have the opportunity to help establish the website and member experience today while contributing to the early product thinking that could shape Golden Coast's future app. What We're Looking For:This role may be a great fit for a student studying: Graphic Design UX/UI Design Web Design or Development Digital Media Product Design Marketing Communications Business or Entrepreneurship A related creative or digital field Formal professional experience is not required. We're especially interested in someone who: Has strong visual instincts and attention to detail Thinks about how people actually experience websites, apps and digital products Is interested in UX, product thinking and mobile experiences Is creative, curious and comfortable contributing ideas Can work independently while also collaborating and receiving feedback Is excited by the opportunity to help build something from an early stage Experience with Wix, Figma, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar platforms is a plus, but not required. Class projects, personal websites, app concepts, wireframes, mock brands and other creative work are welcome as portfolio samples. Internship Details:Start: November/December 2026; flexible Initial term: Approximately 8–10 weeks Hours: Approximately 5 hours per week initially Schedule: Flexible around classes, exams and other commitments Location: Primarily remote, with optional opportunities to attend Golden Coast events throughout South Orange County Compensation: $18/hour Academic Credit: Golden Coast is happy to support students seeking academic credit and complete reasonable employer documentation required by their college or university. Eligibility and approval are determined by the student's academic institution. This internship is intended to begin as a small, flexible commitment. There may be an opportunity to extend the internship into Spring 2027 and/or increase weekly hours as Golden Coast grows, based on business needs, performance, availability and mutual interest. An extension could also provide opportunities for continued involvement as Golden Coast develops its member platform, explores additional chapters and further defines the concept for a future mobile app. Hours will be tracked through our payroll/timekeeping system. Interns should not exceed their scheduled weekly hours without prior approval. What You'll GainThis isn't an internship built around miscellaneous administrative tasks. You'll have ownership of a real, live digital project and the opportunity to help shape both what Golden Coast needs today and what its digital experience could become in the future. You'll work directly with the founder and gain exposure to: Website design and development UX and member journey strategy Early-stage product design Mobile app concept development User flows and wireframing Community technology Digital growth Multi-location scalability Early-stage brand building You'll leave with tangible work you can showcase in your portfolio and résumé — potentially spanning a live website, UX strategy and early mobile product concepts. How to ApplyPlease submit Your résumé or LinkedIn profile A portfolio, website or 2–3 examples of relevant work A few sentences about why Golden Coast interests you A brief response to: If you could build or improve one part of Golden Coast's digital experience — website, member experience or future app — what would you be most excited to work on? Class projects and personal projects are welcome. We're interested in your creativity, perspective and potential — not just previous professional experience.
