Digital Illustrator Needed to Hand-Redraw Character Concepts

I’m a California-based creator and owner of an original children’s character project currently in development. The characters, visual direction, and story concepts are already established, and I’m now looking for a skilled digital illustrator to help convert the existing AI-generated concepts into polished, human-drawn master assets suitable for commercial use and copyright registration. I’m reaching out to only a small number of illustrators whose work I particularly like. I’d like to begin with a paid 4-hour test before selecting an illustrator for the larger project. Paid Test I’ll provide a decoy reference image containing one detailed child character and one simpler companion character. The child represents approximately the upper range of artistic detail expected for the primary characters, while the companion represents the approximate complexity of the simpler sidekicks. Please hand-redraw the supplied AI-generated concept into a polished digital master illustration while preserving the facial features, proportions, expression, personality, colors, textures, and overall visual style very closely. I am not looking for the character to be redesigned or reinterpreted in your own style. The visual direction is already established. I am specifically looking for a skilled digital illustrator who can accurately convert existing AI-generated concepts into professionally human-drawn digital assets. Strict No-AI Requirement Generative AI may not be used to create or modify the commissioned artwork, including Midjourney, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, Adobe Firefly/Generative Fill, or similar tools. The final artwork must be manually created by you using professional digital illustration techniques. Four-Hour Paid Test Please spend no more than 4 hours on the test. The goal is not necessarily to produce a perfectly finished production master within that time. I want to evaluate how accurately and efficiently you can reproduce the character likeness, proportions, facial features, line quality, colors, textures, rendering, and layer organization. Please submit the layered PSD at the end of the four-hour period even if there are areas you would normally continue refining. Potential Larger Project If the test is successful, the larger project involves converting an established collection of approximately 40 AI-generated primary and sidekick character concepts into consistent, professionally hand-drawn digital master assets. Future work may also include adapting those established characters into additional poses and expressions, as well as illustrating children’s books based on supplied character designs, art direction, and story content. The role is primarily illustration and production execution rather than creative direction. The characters, overall aesthetic, and story concepts are already being developed independently. The larger project would require an NDA and a Work-for-Hire / Intellectual Property Assignment Agreement. Before I send the test offer, please confirm that you are comfortable with: 1.
