Director of Business Operations

Role Description The Director of Business Operations is a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing and optimizing core business and logistics operations across the organization. This role will lead operational strategy, streamline processes, and ensure efficient execution of 3PL, 4PL, FLT/PLT, cold chain, and contract logistics services. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing operational performance, identifying improvement opportunities, managing cross-functional programs, and collaborating with finance and senior leadership to align operations with business goals. The Director will also develop and implement standard operating procedures, monitor KPIs, manage risk, and support scalable growth while maintaining high service quality and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

Strong expertise in Business Operations and Program Management, with experience leading complex, multi-site or multi-service logistics initiatives. Demonstrated capability in Business Process Improvement, including designing, implementing, and refining processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Advanced Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret data, build reports and dashboards, and use insights to drive operational decisions. Solid understanding of Finance as it relates to operations, including budgeting, cost control, and evaluating financial performance of logistics services. Proven leadership and people management skills, with experience mentoring teams and collaborating effectively across functions and regions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders. Experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management is highly beneficial, especially in 3PL, 4PL, or cold chain environments. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.
