Director of Business Operations

Role Description The Director of Business Operations is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing core business processes, driving operational efficiency, and supporting strategic initiatives. This role manages end-to-end business operations, including planning, execution, and continuous improvement of workflows across departments. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing operational performance, identifying process gaps, implementing improvements, and coordinating with finance and program teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals. The Director will collaborate with senior leadership to develop and monitor key performance indicators, manage cross-functional projects, and ensure that operational practices support financial health and long-term strategy. This role also provides guidance to operational staff, fosters a culture of accountability and optimization, and supports the implementation of new systems, tools, and policies.

Qualifications

Strong experience in Business Operations and Program Management, with a track record of managing cross-functional initiatives and supporting organizational strategy. Proficiency in Business Process Improvement, including designing, documenting, and optimizing workflows to increase efficiency and reduce risk. Advanced Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret data, build reports and dashboards, and make recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative insights. Solid understanding of Finance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and partnering with finance teams to support informed decision-making. Demonstrated leadership abilities, including managing teams, influencing stakeholders without direct authority, and driving change in a remote environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and present complex information in a clear, concise manner. Experience with business operations tools and platforms (e.g., project management software, ERP or CRM systems, reporting tools) is beneficial. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean, Six Sigma) are a plus.
