Director of Campus Operations
ABOUT BEST DELEGATE Best Delegate is a global education company that prepares young people to be leaders in the world through Model United Nations. Though our summer program the MUN Institute we've taught Model UN to 15,000+ students: 96% of alumni recommend us, and students and parents rate us 4.8/5. The Model UN Institute (MUNI), runs summer programs on top university campuses in D.C., California, New York City, Boston, and more plus virtual programs year-round. Our workshops, MUN Clubs, tutoring, and resources reach students around the world. We're a team of ~8 full-time and 60+ seasonal and part-time staff, mission-driven and growing: Model UN is our foundation, and we're building toward a broader portfolio of educational experiences, from virtual programs to U.S. Politics & Public Speaking. THE ROLE We're not just hiring someone to manage campus logistics. We're looking for someone who can build the campus infrastructure behind that growing portfolio, starting with Model UN and potentially beyond. AT A GLANCE Remote (U.S.), full-time, with about 4–5 weeks onsite each summer $73,000–$75,000 base; about $82,000–$84,000 in total annual value A seat on our Senior Leadership Team Apply by Monday, November 9, 2026 Learn more & Apply here: https://muninstitute.com/pages/careers ABOUT THE ROLE Today, you'll own how our programs come to life on university campuses: university and vendor contracts, housing and meals, materials and shipping, and travel for 60+ seasonal staff across a 9–11 week summer. You'll personally launch our key sites, then run remote support for the rest of the summer. From your seat on the Senior Leadership Team, you'll help shape where we go next, and grow with us into broader operations leadership. Two strengths matter most: relationships outside the company, and meticulous follow-through inside it. Your job is to make every launch look easy, then turn it into a scalable system. Picture this: it's Monday morning, and a campus is opening. The rooms are ready, the meals are ordered, the materials arrived last week, every staff member got where they needed to be, and the contract was signed months ago. You get a quiet rush from being the reason it looked easy. Nobody notices, because you made sure of it. THIS IS YOUR DREAM JOB IF… You get a rush from a flawless event, and quietly love being the reason it looked easy. You're as comfortable negotiating a campus contract as you are tracking down a missing shipment. You want to lead a team and build something big, not just support it. You want a seat at the leadership table and room to grow into a broader operations leader. You believe in helping young people become confident, globally minded leaders. NOT FOR YOU IF… You want a steady 40-hour week all year. Summer peaks are real. You primarily want to work directly with students. That's the Camp Director role. You'd rather follow a system than design one. You'd rather run your own area than help steer the company. You can't travel ~4–5 weeks in summer, plus an annual retreat. You need visa sponsorship. WHAT YOU'LL OWN University partnerships: build trusted relationships with university conference and housing teams; negotiate terms and navigate each university's policies; get answers from slow-to-respond contacts and resolve issues diplomatically. Contracts and operational precision: track dozens of deadlines, payments, policies, and changes at once; lock every campus contract and vendor commitment by March 1; never drop the ball, and build systems so the team doesn't either. Campus evaluation and logistics design: know each campus's capabilities and constraints; design the right logistical setup for every program; evaluate potential new campuses before we commit. Launch readiness and team handoffs: lead the seasonal operations team through every launch; make sure staff can arrive, plug in, and deliver without friction; hand each site to its Camp Director with a working setup. Commercial improvement and expansion: own the campus budget and improve cost per student; make each campus more sustainable and easier to run; build repeatable systems to scale into new locations and programs. WHAT YOU'LL BRING Four strengths matter most. If you're exceptional at these, we'd love to hear from you. Building relationships: you earn trust fast with university partners, vendors, and teammates, and you can get a yes from someone who hasn't answered in a week. Managing complex details: you track dozens of moving parts at once, catch the missing certificate before it matters, and close every loop. Designing and improving operations: you turn one-off heroics into systems, and leave every process simpler than you found it. Owning outcomes and leading people: you own results end to end, manage a budget, and build a team that holds a high bar. The basics 5+ years in operations, events, or project management, including multi-site or multi-day programs 2+ years leading people and owning a budget Experience using AI to improve how you work Experience in youth-serving settings (preferred) Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Bonus points: university conference services or campus housing contracting; Model UN experience; familiarity with EOS (Traction). The fine print Able to travel ~4–5 weeks each summer for onsite kickoffs, plus an annual in-person leadership retreat Available up to ~60 hours a week mid-May to mid-August, including weekend arrival and departure days Eligible to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship) and able to pass a background check Complete Protection of Minors and harassment-prevention training, and hold current First Aid/CPR before your first onsite kickoff Not quite at the Director level yet? Apply anyway. If you have the strengths this role needs but fewer years than it calls for, we may bring you on as Senior Manager, Campus Operations ($65,000–$70,000 base, same benefits) with the explicit goal of growing you into the Director seat. Promotion here follows results, not a calendar. WHERE THIS ROLE CAN GO Hired for today. Recruited for what's next. Growth here follows results, not a calendar, so you can move as fast as you lead. Build the foundation: open every campus on time, safe, and on budget; earn trusted, long-term partnerships with university teams; join the Senior Leadership Team and own quarterly company goals. Expand our reach: open new campuses, markets, and programs without adding complexity; improve campus economics and ease of operations; help bring programs beyond Model UN to campus. Grow into leadership: set a multi-year campus and operations roadmap; develop managers who lead sites without you in the room; potentially step into a Senior Director role. WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH As a member of our Senior Leadership Team, you'll work side by side with our founders and leaders, and learn from each of them: Laurabeth Goldsmith, Chief Executive Officer: how to manage people and projects, and lead like a CEO. Ryan Villanueva, Co-Founder: how to use AI to enhance your work. Kevin Felix Chan, Co-Founder: how to scale a business that works, using EOS.
