Role: Director of Development Engineering Industry: Energy Storage Location: Remote (USA) Salary: Competitive + Bonus + LTIP We are partnered with a rapidly growing energy infrastructure company that is making significant investments in utility-scale battery energy storage across the USA. As they scale they're hiring a Director of Development Engineering to provide technical leadership across project development, technology strategy, supplier engagement, and project execution activities. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity, the ideal candidate will have a strong electrical engineering background, be an expert with utility scale battery technology and be confident leading contract negotiations with OEM suppliers. *Only US Citizens or Greencard holders can be considered Responsibilities 🔨 Work directly alongside leadership to support supplier negotiations, commercial agreements, and technical exhibits (RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes) Lead technical evaluations and support procurement of battery systems, EMS platforms, and other key project technologies Oversee projects throughout development and pre-construction Build and maintain strategic relationships with OEMs, suppliers, and technology partners execution teams Establish and maintain engineering standards and technical best practices Identify technical risks, challenges, and opportunities across projects Act as a bridge between technical and commercial teams throughout project development Support projects through EPC contracting before transitioning ownership to construction and execution teams Manage and scale a growing technical team Qualifications 📑 Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Masters preferred) MIN 10+ years experience in electrical engineering MIN 3 years experience with utility scale BESS projects with IPP Strong technical understanding of utility scale BESS manufacturers Strong experience managing projects from development to pre-construction Experience with contract negotiations (ideally with BESS OEM suppliers) Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Nice to haves: Management experience Why Apply? 🎉 Direct influence on the full lifecycle of utility-scale energy storage projects Significant visibility with executive leadership and key decision-makers Join a team that has successfully delivered approximately 4GW of projects with a 6GW+ development pipeline Strong long-term career progression opportunities into senior leadership Fully remote supported Hit “Apply Now” for further details if you meet the criteria above, or send your resume directly to [email protected] .
