Role Description The Director of Operational Efficiency is a full-time remote role responsible for optimizing internal processes and improving performance across Baobab Ventures and its portfolio companies. This role oversees operational frameworks, identifies bottlenecks, and designs scalable systems for fund operations, portfolio support, and cross-functional collaboration. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing operational data, developing and implementing efficiency initiatives, coordinating with investment and portfolio support teams, and establishing best practices for resource allocation and workflow management. The Director will also support founders by advising on operational design, performance metrics, and customer-facing processes to help them scale efficiently. This position requires close collaboration with leadership to translate strategic objectives into measurable operational outcomes.
Qualifications
Strong Operations Management skills, including process design, optimization, and implementation. Advanced Analytical Skills for interpreting data, building dashboards, and making evidence-based decisions. Demonstrated Team Management experience, including coaching, cross-functional coordination, and stakeholder alignment. Proficiency in Budgeting and resource planning to support efficient fund operations and portfolio initiatives. Customer Service orientation, with the ability to support founders and internal stakeholders in a responsive, solutions-focused manner. Experience in venture capital, private equity, consulting, or high-growth startups is highly beneficial. Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort working in a fully remote, distributed environment. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
