Director of Project Management

Role Description The Director of Project Management is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading the project management function across the organization. This position oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects and programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, scope, schedule, and budget. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding project managers, setting standards and methodologies, monitoring project performance, and resolving cross-functional issues and risks. The director collaborates with senior leadership to prioritize initiatives, allocate resources, and improve processes and tools that support efficient delivery. This role also involves coaching teams, fostering a culture of accountability and transparency, and communicating project status and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong Program Management and Project Management skills for overseeing portfolios and individual initiatives. Candidates should possess Budgeting skills to manage financial plans, track costs, and optimize resource allocation. Candidates should possess Team Leadership skills to guide, mentor, and develop project management staff and cross-functional teams. Candidates should possess Process Improvement skills to refine methodologies, workflows, and tools for better efficiency and quality. Proven experience in a senior project or program management leadership role, ideally overseeing multiple complex, cross-functional projects. Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, with strong communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making capabilities. Familiarity with common project management frameworks (e.g., PMI, Agile) and tools (e.g., project tracking and collaboration platforms). Bachelor’s degree in business, management, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, Agile) are beneficial.
