Director of Project Management

Role Description The Director of Project Management is a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex programs and projects across the organization. This role leads a team of project and program managers, establishes best practices, and ensures alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities. Day-to-day responsibilities include defining project scopes, timelines, and resource plans; overseeing budgets and financial forecasts; and monitoring progress against key milestones and performance metrics. The director collaborates closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to manage risks, resolve issues, and drive process improvements that enhance efficiency and consistency. This role also includes mentoring team members, refining project governance frameworks, and championing continuous improvement in project management methodologies and tools.

Qualifications

Strong Program Management and Project Management skills, including experience leading multiple concurrent initiatives. Demonstrated proficiency in Budgeting, financial tracking, and managing project and program cost controls. Proven Team Leadership capabilities, including coaching, performance management, and building high-performing project teams. Experience in Process Improvement, developing and implementing standards, frameworks, and governance for project delivery. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills. Experience working in a remote or distributed environment, with strong organizational and time-management abilities. Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, hybrid approaches). Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma) is preferred.
