Director of Project Management

Role Description The Director of Project Management is a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of key projects and programs across the organization. This role leads a team of project managers, providing guidance, coaching, and performance oversight while ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and priorities. Day-to-day responsibilities include defining project governance, setting standards and methodologies, monitoring budgets and timelines, and managing risks and dependencies. The Director collaborates with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, track progress against objectives, and communicate status and outcomes. The role also drives continuous process improvement, implements tools and best practices, and ensures that projects deliver expected value and quality.

Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in Project Management, including planning, execution, risk management, and cross-functional coordination. Strong Program Management experience, with the ability to oversee multiple related projects and align them to strategic goals. Proficiency in Budgeting, financial tracking, and resource allocation to ensure projects and programs are delivered within approved constraints. Proven Team Leadership skills, including mentoring project managers, building high-performing teams, and fostering collaboration in a remote environment. Experience in Process Improvement, implementing standardized methodologies, and driving operational efficiency across project workflows. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership and influence decisions. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to measuring performance and outcomes. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, Agile/Scrum) are a plus. Prior experience leading project or program management functions in a complex, multi-stakeholder, or matrixed environment.
