Drafter

Job Title: Architectural Draftsman (AutoCAD | Remote) Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Draftsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in AutoCAD and capable of producing accurate architectural and construction drawings for residential and light commercial projects. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently in a remote environment, and effective collaboration with licensed professionals and internal team members. This position is structured to allow candidates to integrate into our drafting standards and workflows prior to long-term commitment.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and professional architectural and construction drawings using AutoCAD
• Prepare and update complete plan sets, which may include:
• Cover sheets and general information sheets
• Site plans
• Dimension plans
• Floor layout plans
• Slab edge / foundation plans
• Cross sections and building sections
• Exterior elevations
• Electrical layouts
• Create custom or project-specific sheets as required by job scope or jurisdictional requirements
• Collaborate with licensed architects, engineers, and internal design staff to incorporate redlines and revisions
• Review and revise drawings to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with internal standards and applicable codes
• Assist in assembling complete construction document sets for permitting and client delivery
• Maintain organized drawing files and revision records
• Communicate progress, questions, and issues clearly and professionally

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (required; this role does not use Revit or BIM platforms)
• Strong understanding of architectural drafting standards and construction documentation
• Demonstrated experience producing residential and/or light commercial construction drawings
• Familiarity with building codes, zoning considerations, and permitting documentation
• Excellent attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy
• Ability to collaborate effectively with licensed professionals
• Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines independently

Technical & Work Environment Requirements

• Must provide and maintain your own computer/workstation capable of running AutoCAD efficiently
• During the training and onboarding phase, candidates must supply and maintain their own AutoCAD license(Free trials available through AutoDesk)
• Following successful integration and performance review, the company may elect, at its discretion, to provide an AutoCAD license
• Must be willing to install and use productivity monitoring software during working hours
• Must be comfortable working remotely with clearly defined expectations and accountability

Tools & Workflow

• AutoCAD – primary drafting software
• Email – primary communication method during the initial phase
• Spreadsheets – used for task assignment, progress tracking, and deliverable reporting

Additional internal tools and systems may be introduced after successful onboarding and mutual commitment. Compensation & Work Structure

• Contract-based (1099) – commission structure with high earning potential of $3,000-$6000 per month.
• Expected workload of approximately 25–40 hours per week, depending on availability and project demand
• This role offers the opportunity to grow into performance-based incentives over time, contingent on consistency, quality, and reliability

Employment Classification

• Top performers who demonstrate consistency and reliability over 6+ months may be considered for transition into a W-2 role, based on performance and business needs.
