Editorial Content Specialist
About the position Turing is seeking an experienced editorial professional to work on projects that evaluate and improve AI using editorial expertise and communication skills. No prior AI experience is required. The work offers opportunities to learn how AI can enhance editing workflows, improve content quality, and optimize publishing operations. The role involves designing real-world editorial and publishing scenarios to test AI reasoning; writing structured examples that address grammar correction, tone alignment, structural editing, and content refinement; evaluating AI responses for accuracy, editorial quality, and professional standards; and collaborating with AI researchers on editing, writing tone, and publishing conventions. This is a freelance contractor assignment that may be full-time, with projects lasting approximately one month and a possibility of extension. The work is fully remote. Compensation varies by project. Candidates must not provide confidential, proprietary, trade-secret, client-specific, or otherwise restricted information from employers or other organizations.
Responsibilities

- Collaborate with AI researchers to strengthen model understanding of editing, writing tone, and publishing conventions.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience as an Editor, Copy Editor, or Content Specialist in publishing, media, or communications.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Strong English writing, grammar, and editorial judgment skills.
- Ability to explain editing choices and language nuances clearly and effectively.
