Family Support Advocate

Lifesteps, a local non-profit agency, is seeking a full-time Family Support Advocate (Specialist) (FSS) based in Beaver, PA . The Family Support Specialist will coordinate enrollment and provide services to mothers referred by Children and Youth Services (CYS) in Beaver County. This position will create and update a Plan of Safe Care in collaboration with the mother; assess infant’s safety and monitor infant developmental stages; and offer guidance, education and referrals to parents as appropriate in order to achieve positive support outcomes for each family receiving services. This is a full-time, Monday thru Friday position, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with occasional evening hours based on program need. QUALIFICATIONS: Required : Bachelor’s Degree Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to articulate information to a diverse audience Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Current driver’s license and the ability to travel for business utilizing personal vehicle Preferred : Bachelors Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field Prior experience working in a Human Services profession Knowledge of child development, trauma informed care, drug or alcohol counseling or infant care Experience with family units in home-based setting Competitive benefit package for full-time employment includes 100% paid medical, dental and vision insurance premiums; paid vacation, sick and personal time; and 12 paid holidays.
