Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Freelance Proofreader/Editor to edit our fantasy novel. This remote position offers flexibility. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in English or English Literature. has excellent editing skills, strong communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail to ensure all content meets high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Review and proofread our YA fantasy novel for grammatical, spelling, punctuation, and formatting errors. Emphasis will be placed on making sure it conforms to past tense.
- Collaborate with writers to clarify content requirements and provide constructive feedback
- Ensure all deliverables meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
- Adapt editing style based on a creative writing project Qualifications
- Degree in English or English Literature Proven experience in proofreading and editing.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear feedback
- Exceptional writing skills with an eye for detail and accuracy.
- Experience with word processing tools and editing software (e.g., Microsoft Word).
- Background in creative writing is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
