About the Company

Lyric is a healthcare decision intelligence company with more than 35 years of experience. It combines responsible AI with clinical, payment, regulatory, and policy expertise to help health plans make faster, more accurate payment decisions. Its platform supports 200 million lives, with nine of the top 10 U.S. health plans relying on its solutions.

About the Role

Lyric is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack to help modernize its healthcare payment integrity platform. This role is primarily focused on front-end engineering, with opportunities to contribute to backend development using .NET and PostgreSQL. You will build modular React applications, improve user experiences, contribute to design systems, and develop reliable APIs. You will also use AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex to accelerate development, modernize existing code, and improve engineering workflows while maintaining high-quality standards. This is a full-time remote position open to candidates in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop modular, testable, and accessible React applications using effective component architecture, state management, routing, and shared libraries. Improve the user experience through design system contributions, responsive layouts, WCAG accessibility, client-side performance, and reliable error and loading states. Collaborate with UX teams to build effective workflows for complex customer needs, including data-heavy tables, long-running operations, and permission management. Develop and extend .NET APIs that support front-end applications, following RESTful design, versioning, and maintainability standards. Refactor legacy .NET code, improve service boundaries, add endpoints, and maintain reliable API contracts. Work with SQL and PostgreSQL to improve query performance, indexing, and transactional correctness. Contribute to data pipelines and event-driven workflows using Kafka when required. Use AI coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex for component migrations, framework upgrades, API extraction, test generation, and documentation. Develop reusable AI-assisted engineering practices, including prompt templates, repository instructions, migration checklists, and code review guidelines. Review AI-generated code carefully, identify inaccurate outputs, and prevent regressions before changes reach production. Build and maintain security and privacy practices across client-side and server-side applications. Establish quality standards through component, integration, and end-to-end testing, CI checks, structured logging, and application monitoring. Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions while promoting consistent engineering practices. Work with analysts, product stakeholders, designers, and engineers to translate business requirements into practical software solutions. Contribute to delivery planning, balance technical priorities, and support predictable project milestones.

Required Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience building and delivering production software systems. Strong front-end development experience with React and Next.js, or comparable experience with Angular and a willingness to lead development in React. Experience building and maintaining complex web applications, including component architecture, state management, routing, forms, accessibility, and performance optimization. Strong knowledge of TypeScript, HTML, CSS, browser performance, accessibility, and modern testing practices. Experience with unit testing, component testing, end-to-end testing, and build and release tooling. Working experience with C# and modern .NET, including the ability to read, extend, and refactor existing service code. Comfortable working with SQL, designing schemas, writing queries, and identifying database performance issues. Experience designing and integrating service-oriented APIs with versioning, authentication, reliability, and testing practices. Cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure. AWS experience is particularly relevant. Regular hands-on use of AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools for multi-file refactoring, migrations, test generation, and code review workflows. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading or contributing significantly to front-end modernization projects, such as AngularJS-to-React migrations or moving monolithic applications to micro-frontends. Experience building or maintaining design systems and component libraries. Experience modernizing legacy ASP.NET or .NET Framework applications. Familiarity with distributed systems, Kafka, event-driven architectures, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server. Experience establishing AI-assisted engineering practices, including repository instructions, agent-based workflows, CI safeguards, feature flags, and canary deployments. Strong communication skills, including writing clear pull request descriptions and design documents. Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare, fintech, or payments.
