About the Role
The company is looking for a Lead Full Stack Python Developer for a long-term contract with an option to hire. This fully remote position is based in Chicago, Illinois, and involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining complex applications and web service integrations across interconnected enterprise systems. The role combines Python backend development, frontend engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, data quality, and technical leadership. The developer will collaborate with database administrators, product teams, QA, and other engineers to deliver scalable solutions, improve system reliability, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation. The position also involves using AI-powered coding assistants to support efficient software development.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps environments Build and maintain Python backend services, APIs, and web service integrations, contributing to frontend development as needed Develop full-stack features using Python and React.js or Angular Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and manage cloud infrastructure using tools such as Terraform Monitor production systems, troubleshoot incidents, and implement root-cause fixes Write, validate, and modify code and scripts to support internal and external company systems Collaborate with database administrators on SQL Server tables, data integrity, stored procedures, SSRS, and SSIS packages Provide operational backup for routine database maintenance Work with product, QA, and engineering teams to plan and deliver features Review code, promote development standards, and share technical knowledge with other developers Improve deployment reliability, system observability, and application performance Contribute to architecture decisions and technical roadmap planning Lead the conceptualization and development of programs, web applications, and API integrations Create logical diagrams representing current and future system states Lead LifePRO application support, including evaluating, testing, and deploying periodic releases and new functionality Monitor resource utilization across programs, web applications, web services, and related systems Use AI-powered coding assistants, including GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, to support software development Develop and execute program-level and system-level testing plans Monitor applications, diagnose coding and logic errors, and implement corrective actions Review production data and reports to verify scheduled job completion, data quality, and data integrity Create and maintain application, program, and system documentation in accordance with team standards Maintain disaster recovery and data center instructions, design documentation, architecture records, and technical standards Prepare special reports upon request Required Skills and Technologies Full-stack development with Python and React.js or Angular Amazon Web Services (AWS) Terraform and infrastructure management CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices SQL and PostgreSQL .NET AI-powered development tools, including Claude Contract Details and Work Arrangement Long-term contract with an option to hire Fully remote position Location: Chicago, Illinois Additional Information The role includes technical leadership, application support, architecture planning, software development, data quality oversight, and documentation responsibilities.
