About the Role
SerpApi is seeking a Junior Fullstack Engineer to help design, build, test, and maintain APIs and web-based solutions. In this role, you will work on features that integrate search data into applications, investigate technical challenges, and contribute to the quality and reliability of the platform. You will collaborate with other engineers through code reviews, troubleshooting, and technical discussions while also helping prioritize product improvements. The position offers a remote-first work environment with flexibility in scheduling and opportunities to develop your technical skills. The company welcomes candidates worldwide. Team members based outside Austin, Texas, are typically hired as independent contractors because SerpApi does not maintain an office in their locations.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop APIs, features, and technical solutions that support SerpApi’s products and customer needs. Investigate complex technical issues, develop specialized knowledge, and identify practical solutions. Write clear, maintainable, well-structured code that meets quality and reliability standards. Participate in pull request reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support other engineers. Troubleshoot customer-reported issues and help identify their causes and appropriate fixes. Contribute to prioritizing work across internal and public product roadmaps. Test features and technical changes thoroughly, resolve identified problems, and verify solutions before production deployment. Write technical blog posts explaining interesting engineering challenges, promoting APIs, and sharing solutions to complex technical problems. Identify opportunities to improve existing features, development processes, and customer-facing functionality. Work independently on assigned tasks while identifying additional improvements that could create value for the company.
Required Qualifications
Ability to design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions for web applications and APIs. Strong problem-solving skills and an interest in investigating technical issues in depth. Ability to write clean, understandable, and maintainable code. Willingness to participate in code reviews and collaborate with other engineers. Ability to troubleshoot software issues and respond to customer-reported problems. Commitment to testing software thoroughly and resolving defects before deployment. Strong written communication skills for technical discussions, documentation, and knowledge sharing. Ability to work independently in a remote-first, asynchronous environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing fullstack web applications and integrating APIs. Familiarity with search engine data, API integrations, or web data extraction. Experience with GitHub-based development workflows and pull request reviews. Interest in technical writing and explaining engineering concepts through blog posts. Ability to identify product improvements and contribute to technical planning. Salary & Benefits SerpApi reports average annual total compensation of $232,448 per team member worldwide, including profit shares. This figure represents the company’s stated worldwide average and is not necessarily a guaranteed salary for this specific junior-level position.
