Grant Research & Writing Consultant for Animal Welfare / Research Animal Rehabilitation
Keeper & Kin is seeking an experienced grant research and writing consultant to help us identify, pursue, and manage funding opportunities related to former research animals, particularly dogs transitioning from laboratory environments into foster and adoptive homes. Keeper & Kin specializes in the behavioral rehabilitation of former research dogs and provides support to rescues, fosters, adopters, and organizations involved in their transition and placement. We are looking for someone who can help us build a long-term funding pipeline, not simply write an occasional grant application. We are particularly interested in someone who can think beyond traditional shelter grants. There is increasing attention and funding around the welfare, retirement, rehoming, and transition of animals used in research, and we want someone who can help us identify opportunities within that space. The right person will help us identify opportunities across several areas, including: - Animal welfare and behavioral rehabilitation - Former laboratory/research animal retirement and rehoming - Foster and adopter support - Rescue and shelter behavior programs - Research-animal welfare and refinement - Behavioral or psychological research involving former research animals - Corporate and private foundation funding - University or academic research partnerships - Government or federally funded opportunities related to research animals - Opportunities that could be pursued jointly with nonprofit rescue or sanctuary partners
