Role Description The SCADA Application Developer role is a remote contract position responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining SCADA applications that support industrial and engineering operations. Day-to-day tasks include implementing software features, configuring SCADA interfaces, and integrating data from various control systems and databases. The role involves collaborating with engineering and operations teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot application issues, and optimize performance and reliability. The developer will also ensure that SCADA solutions follow best practices in security, scalability, and maintainability, and will participate in testing, documentation, and deployment activities.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Software Development and Programming, with experience building and maintaining industrial or SCADA applications. Hands-on experience working with Databases, including data modeling, queries, and integration with SCADA or related systems. Knowledge of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and related front-end technologies for developing or customizing user interfaces. Experience with Integration of SCADA systems with PLCs, sensors, enterprise applications, and data platforms. Familiarity with SCADA platforms and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, MQTT) is highly beneficial. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage priorities, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams. Experience in any of SARACA’s key industries (MedTech, Aerospace, Rail, Automotive, Semiconductor, Defense, Farm) is an advantage.
