Interim Tax Consultant

A great client at UHY is seeking an Interim Tax Consultant . The ideal candidate will have general tax experience, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and preferably some exposure to sales tax compliance. The Interim Tax Consultant role is a consulting position. This is a primarily remote position with occasional travel for important meetings. Interim Tax Consultant Responsibilities Support day-to-day tax activities and general tax compliance processes Assist with sales tax research, calculations, reporting, and compliance as needed Prepare, review, and organize tax documentation, schedules, and supporting records Assist with gathering and validating financial data for tax-related purposes Review transactions and records for accuracy and completeness Help identify and resolve discrepancies in tax documentation and financial information Support the preparation and filing of applicable tax returns and related reports Research basic tax questions and help identify relevant tax rules and requirements Maintain organized tax files and documentation to support reporting and compliance Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to obtain necessary information and resolve tax-related questions Assist with tax reconciliations and related account reviews Support audit requests by gathering documentation and responding to information requests Help monitor tax deadlines and ensure assigned tasks are completed on time Assist with ad hoc tax projects and other duties as assigned Interim Tax Consultant

Requirements

Experience supporting general tax activities, tax compliance, or related accounting functions Exposure to sales tax processes, reporting, or compliance preferred Familiarity with tax documentation, financial records, and basic tax concepts Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to review financial information, identify discrepancies, and follow through on corrections Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications Flexibility to support a range of tax-related responsibilities as business needs evolve UHY Advisors' Resource Solutions Group provides clients with accomplished professionals to support finance, accounting, internal audit and tax teams.
