About The Role The Test and Training Enabling Architecture (TENA) program at Leidos is seeking a skilled Java Web Application Developer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in developing tools for the United States Department of Defense test and training communities, aiming to accelerate capability deployment and enhance operational readiness. The successful candidate will work remotely, with the position based in Alexandria, VA, and will collaborate closely with a team of engineers and developers to design, build, test, and maintain robust web applications that support critical military operations. The role involves engaging in full-stack development, ensuring security compliance, and contributing to architectural decisions to meet stringent operational and security requirements.
Qualifications
U.S. Citizen with an active Secret clearance or higher Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience (experience may substitute for degree) Minimum of 3+ years experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining full-stack web applications At least 2+ years experience in requirements gathering and validation for software applications Proficiency with web UI components including HTML, CSS, JavaScript (NodeJS), and Angular Experience in designing and building RESTful web services Knowledge of Java EE/Jakarta EE integration, Servlets, and JDBC Experience with PostgreSQL or equivalent relational databases and SQL queries Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles, Java Streams, Lambda expressions, Collections framework, and Exception handling
Responsibilities
Collaborate with an existing team to develop comprehensive full-stack web applications supporting operational needs Document, analyze, and validate web application requirements to ensure alignment with mission objectives Develop automated testing frameworks and scripts in accordance with test plans to ensure software quality Provide architectural support and technical guidance during the design and development phases of web applications Participate actively in software design discussions, recommending suitable tools, technologies, and development techniques Refactor and update existing web applications to incorporate new features, enhance reliability, and optimize performance Review and ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards by assessing the security posture of web applications Assist in integrating web applications with backend systems and services using Java EE technologies Maintain documentation for code, architecture, and deployment procedures for future reference and compliance
