Junior Cloud / Infrastructure Associate (Paid Internship)
Company Description: Safe Check-N is a multi-modal Travel/RegTech compliance platform focused on protecting short-term rental travelers and business employees. The company bridges a critical accountability gap by independently verifying listing legality and indoor privacy compliance on Colombia’s largest short-term rental platform. Available as a web application, browser extension, and enterprise API. Location: Remote Pay: $20/hr Hours: Part-Time (5–10 hours/week) Start Date: January 4th The Role: Our cloud data infrastructure, database schemas, and automated pipelines are fully built and running in production. We're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Junior Cloud/Infrastructure Associate to monitor system health, run schema maintenance, and handle operational pipeline uptime. No sandbox projects, tutorial apps, or redesigns. Here you'll get direct, hands-on experience managing a real production-level tool; the single most valuable asset on a technical resume when interviewing with future employers. Eligibility: Must be a Junior, Senior, Graduate Student, OR a recent graduate (Class of 2024 or later) in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field. What You'll Be Doing: Pipeline Monitoring & Health: Monitoring automated SQL and Google BigQuery ingestion jobs; catching failed runs, data mismatches, and API timeouts before they hit production. Database & Schema Hygiene: Running regular integrity checks, query optimization maintenance, and data cleanups on incoming municipal and regulatory datasets. API Connector Maintenance: Testing endpoint reliability, handling error logs, and keeping verification connectors operating cleanly. Audit Logs & System Documentation: Maintaining documentation for existing cloud resources, schema mapping, and workflow configurations. What We're Looking For: Solid working knowledge of SQL, terminal/CLI tools, and cloud data stacks (GCP / BigQuery strongly preferred). High attention to detail—you catch broken data, failing scripts, or API errors instantly. Basic familiarity with Python or scripting for inspecting log files and payloads. Complete respect for production environments. You check twice and execute once. Compensation & Perks $20/hr (5–10 hours/week, flexible remote schedule). 5% Profit Sharing Pool eligible after 60 days on the job. Direct production engineering experience managing live cloud infrastructure.
