Litigation Associate | Fully Remote $200,000–$260,000 base salary plus discretionary bonus

Swan Legal Search is recruiting a litigation associate for a fully remote law firm offering sophisticated work, a collaborative culture, and a path to partnership. This opportunity is well suited to an attorney coming from BigLaw or a leading litigation boutique who wants substantive responsibility, room to develop as an advocate, and greater flexibility in how and where they practice. The firm’s culture centers on integrity, mutual respect, and close collaboration. Associates are trusted to take ownership of their work, exercise independent judgment, and contribute to case strategy while working closely with colleagues. Individual professional development and long-term working relationships are central to the practice. Associates are expected to bill 32-35 hours per week. The fully remote model offers flexibility alongside opportunities to build litigation skills, develop client relationships, and grow within a partner-track environment. You’ll handle a mix of general commercial litigation and employment disputes. No prior employment litigation experience is required. The firm welcomes associates with strong general litigation backgrounds who are interested in working across practice areas. You will:

• Investigate facts, evaluate claims and defenses, and help develop litigation strategy for sophisticated clients.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs in state and federal court litigation and arbitration.
• Conduct depositions, argue motions, and take substantive responsibility for matters.
• Manage case files independently while collaborating with colleagues and advising clients on litigation risk and business decisions.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of litigation experience at a national law firm or top-tier litigation boutique.
• A JD from a top 25 law school in the United States
• Admitted to the California Bar in good standing.
• Strong academic credentials, excellent legal research and writing skills.
• The ability to manage multiple matters, communicate effectively, and work independently within a collaborative remote team.

Judicial clerkship experience, New York Bar admission, and experience with arbitration, mediation, or other alternative dispute resolution are desirable. Base compensation is $200,000–$260,000, depending on experience and qualifications, plus a discretionary bonus.
