Remote Position

Looking for iOS developer to audit my app into deployment

🌍 Remote · United States 💼 Full-time

I’m looking for an experienced freelance software engineer to help take my existing running-coaching app, Run With Halle, from prototype to a fully functional, production-ready iOS app. The app prototype has already been built, and I want to preserve as much of the existing work as possible. I need someone who can assess the current codebase, identify what’s missing, and execute the technical work needed to launch. Primary deliverables: 1. Code audit and app deployment: Review the existing app architecture, frontend, backend, database, and authentication. Fix bugs, address technical gaps, and prepare the app for Apple TestFlight testing and App Store submission. 2. Two-way Garmin Connect integration: Implement syncing from Garmin into Run With Halle for relevant completed workouts and supported fitness data, and from Run With Halle to Garmin for structured running workouts and training plans that can be sent to compatible Garmin devices. Verify API access, permissions, and technical feasibility upfront. 3. End-to-end testing: Ensure the app’s core features work reliably, including user accounts, personalized running plans, workout logging, run modifications, and Garmin data syncing. Test error handling and duplicate or failed syncs. 4. Production readiness and handoff: Document the codebase, integrations, deployment process, and any ongoing infrastructure costs. Ensure I retain ownership of the source code, accounts, and credentials. Ideal candidate:

  • Has shipped and maintained real iOS applications.
  • Has experience with the Apple Developer ecosystem, TestFlight, and App Store submission.
  • Is proficient in APIs, backend development, databases, and authentication.
  • Has experience with Garmin Connect APIs or comparable fitness-platform integrations.
  • Can work with an existing AI-assisted prototype and identify what can be reused rather than recommending an unnecessary rebuild.
  • Communicates clearly, works independently, and can explain technical tradeoffs to a nontechnical founder.

Engagement structure: I’d like to start with a short, paid technical audit and a clear implementation plan. Following the audit, I’d like a milestone-based estimate for launch and Garmin integration, with deliverables, timeline, and costs defined upfront. Apply To This Job
