About the Role

CrowdStrike is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join its growing AIDR Engineering Team. This role provides engineering support to a data science group focused on high-throughput, low-latency large language model (LLM) inference. You will collaborate with engineers and applied data scientists on LLM post-training, data engineering, rigorous evaluations, and scalable customer-facing applications. The team focuses on enabling enterprise users to interact safely and securely with AI applications. You will contribute to developing custom models, building data pipelines, improving system performance, and strengthening the reliability of AI-driven products. The position requires strong data engineering and architecture experience, a deep understanding of LLM post-training methods, and knowledge of distributed systems. Previous cybersecurity industry experience is not required, as CrowdStrike provides opportunities to learn security concepts relevant to the role.

Key Responsibilities

Apply modern machine learning technologies to accelerate data science and support research and development teams. Develop high-quality engineering solutions for scalable, customer-facing applications. Analyze systems to identify potential vulnerabilities, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Build and maintain data pipelines and contribute to training and implementing custom models. Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and other teams to define problems and develop effective solutions. Maintain high coding standards through appropriate testing, code reviews, logging, and metrics. Develop, test, deploy, and monitor changes while taking end-to-end ownership of assigned work. Improve product architecture, knowledge models, user experience, performance, and reliability. Contribute to mentoring other engineers while sharing knowledge and learning from colleagues. Stay informed about customer challenges and identify ways to improve product capabilities and support. Continuously develop technical skills and contribute to a collaborative, agile engineering environment.

Prior experience in data engineering and architecture supporting advanced data science use cases. Deep understanding of LLM post-training methods and computational architectures. Understanding of scalability and distributed systems concepts, including sharding, partitioning, and concurrency. Strong knowledge of engineering best practices, including testing approaches, peer code reviews, and resilient architecture. Ability to work in a test-driven, collaborative, and iterative development environment. Ability to deliver high-quality, unit-tested, code-reviewed software and contribute regularly to continuous integration workflows. Demonstrated experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, increase efficiency, and support business outcomes. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with engineering and applied data science teams. Technical Skills and Tools Experience with a high-level programming language, such as Python or JVM-based technologies. Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or MaaS. Knowledge of Kafka, Cassandra, and Spark. Experience with Elasticsearch. Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Chef, or Ansible. Experience scaling inference across GPUs or GPU clusters. Candidates are not expected to know every technology listed. A strong ability and willingness to learn are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrable applied experience with scalable architectures for LLM post-training or fine-tuning. Previous experience in cybersecurity or intelligence. Salary and Benefits The U.S. base salary range is $140,000โ€“$215,000 per year. Compensation depends on factors including relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location. Additional compensation may include bonuses and equity grants.
