Mainframe Developer / Engineer-REMOTE Job Title: Mainframe Developer / Engineer Location: Remote Duration: Contract Experience: 10+ year Visa: GC, GC EAD OR USC and W2 (It's a client requirement) Salary: $65-$70/hr (negotiable)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer / Engineer with a strong background in mainframe application development, maintenance, modernization, and production support. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with IBM mainframe technologies and a solid understanding of banking systems, core processing, batch operations, and enterprise application integration. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in IBM z/OS mainframe environments. Strong programming experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS. Experience with VSAM, TSO/ISPF, and mainframe utilities. Strong understanding of batch processing, job scheduling, and file handling. Experience with mainframe debugging and performance optimization. Familiarity with ChangeMan, Endevor, or similar source code management tools. Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise applications. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in banking, financial services, or credit union environments. Knowledge of core banking platforms, customer accounts, payments, and statement processing. Experience with IBM MQ, REST APIs, and mainframe integration. Understanding of mainframe modernization and cloud migration initiatives. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Familiarity with Control-M, CA-7, or other enterprise scheduling tools.
Compensation
Compensation: $65.00 – $70.00 per hour* This is the targeted compensation range for this role. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location.
