Medical Staff accountant/ healthcare funding
Overview
As a Medical Staff Accountant focused on healthcare funding, you’ll keep financial records accurate, support funding and compliance activities, and turn financial data into clear information for decision-makers. You’ll apply accounting and finance experience to daily operations, reporting, and planning. Your impact: Accurate funding records and timely financial reporting help healthcare teams and stakeholders make informed decisions. Duties Maintain the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and perform account, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations. Manage accounts payable and receivable; support accrual accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis. Prepare and interpret financial statements and reports; conduct account analysis and Excel data analysis, including use of spreadsheets and the VLOOKUP function. Support financial analysis, financial management, and regulatory compliance accounting; apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), financial compliance practices, and relevant technical accounting standards. Use accounting and financial software to support reporting and records; contribute to process guidance and mentoring as appropriate.
Requirements
Accounting and finance experience, with knowledge of accounting, financial accounting, corporate accounting, corporate finance, financial concepts, financial acumen, double-entry bookkeeping, and debits and credits. Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, or other accounting software; familiarity with general ledger accounting and reconciliation. Understanding of financial reporting, report writing and interpretation, financial services, and securities law. Relevant experience in public accounting, non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, or healthcare funding is valuable. Familiarity with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), or wills, trusts, and estate law is preferred.
