About this role OpenTrain is recruiting for a Military Operations AI Evaluation Expert to review AI-generated military scenarios and provide expert feedback that improves operational realism, tactical accuracy, and the reliability of AI reasoning. The work focuses on military operations, tactical decision-making, planning, combat operations, targeting, weapons employment, Rules of Engagement, Law of Armed Conflict, and operational constraints. What you will do Evaluate AI-generated military scenarios for operational realism, tactical accuracy, and sound decision-making. Review scenarios involving military planning, combat operations, targeting, and weapons employment. Assess whether scenarios appropriately apply Rules of Engagement, Law of Armed Conflict, international humanitarian law, and operational constraints. Identify inaccuracies, explain the relevant operational issue, and provide clear, structured written feedback. Use firsthand operational judgment to distinguish plausible military decision-making from flawed or unrealistic reasoning. Required skills You should have current or former military operational experience in infantry, Special Operations Forces, combat aviation, artillery, targeting, air defense, naval operations, military intelligence, or a related area. Strong understanding of military operations, tactical planning, and operational decision-making is required. You should be able to assess complex scenarios and communicate findings clearly in writing. Familiarity with Rules of Engagement, Law of Armed Conflict, or international humanitarian law is valuable. Helpful background Combat deployments, operational command, weapons specialization, or military instructional experience are valuable for this work. Attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to follow evaluation guidelines will support success in the role.
