About The Role We are seeking a skilled Machine Learning Platform Engineer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing and scaling our machine learning platform to enhance core capabilities across our sports betting and daily fantasy ecosystems. Your expertise will help optimize key performance metrics such as Time-to-Bet, Deposit Velocity, and Platform Integrity by integrating low-latency, robust machine learning models into our systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable ML infrastructure, automate deployment processes, and ensure high availability and performance of ML services in a high-traffic environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to directly influence the technological backbone of PrizePicks and contribute to our mission of redefining the DFS industry through innovation and excellence. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, with a proven track record of deploying and maintaining scalable ML platforms in high-traffic production environments 1+ years of experience owning end-to-end ML systems in production, including incident response and on-call responsibilities Proficiency with real-time data streaming architectures such as Kafka, Flink, or PubSub Expertise in building low-latency services for model inference Extensive experience with MLOps tools and managing the full ML lifecycle using platforms like SageMaker, VertexAI, and managing feature stores Hands-on experience with managing and scaling caches such as Redis or Elasticsearch Proficiency with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, including cluster management Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency in Go; knowledge of C++, Rust is a plus Experience in developing automated retraining pipelines, model monitoring, and observability practices

Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable, reliable ML infrastructure to support experimental and production models Build automation for deploying low-latency inference services serving models in milliseconds Lead feature engineering efforts and develop a centralized feature store to support complex models across various domains Collaborate with infrastructure teams to build and maintain core ML platform components for training, experimentation, and deployment Implement best practices for model deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines for ML systems Develop automated pipelines for model retraining, data drift detection, and system observability Ensure high availability, performance, and security of ML services in a high-traffic environment Participate in incident response and troubleshooting for ML systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance
