About the Role
Speed Collective is seeking a Senior Motion Graphics Artist for a 6–8 week contract. This remote position is open to candidates based in the United States who are available full-time during Pacific Time business hours. The artist will lead motion design projects from creative brief through final delivery, producing polished, client-ready work with minimal supervision. A major focus is screen UI cleanup and animation for software product demonstrations, transforming screen recordings and interface designs into clear, engaging visuals while maintaining accuracy and brand consistency. Between client assignments, the artist will contribute to internal creative projects, support workflow improvements, and explore emerging tools and technologies. A potential transition to a full-time staff position may be discussed near the end of the contract, depending on mutual fit and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and animation of motion graphics, branded sequences, titles, and other visual content from concept through final delivery. Clean up and refine screen recordings, including cursor removal and replacement, smoother cursor movement, timing adjustments, and removal of unwanted interface elements. Build and animate UI sequences using screen captures, Figma files, and supplied assets. Use highlights, callouts, zooms, and transitions to communicate software product features clearly. Develop visual concepts, style frames, and storyboards based on creative briefs. Collaborate with editors, colorists, and VFX artists to integrate motion design into finished projects. Interpret feedback, resolve creative and technical challenges, and maintain consistency across deliverables. Deliver organized project files and production-ready assets on schedule. Contribute to internal projects between client assignments, including marketing content, creative development, and workflow improvements. Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, including AI-assisted tools where appropriate.
Required Qualifications
Substantial professional motion design experience in an agency, studio, post-production company, or established freelance practice. A senior-level portfolio demonstrating polished commercial work, strong design fundamentals, and ownership of projects from concept through completion. Demonstrated experience with software product demonstrations, screen UI cleanup, and interface animation, supported by relevant work samples. Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects. Strong working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator. Familiarity with Figma and the ability to translate supplied UI designs into animation. Excellent command of timing, typography, composition, color, and visual storytelling. Strong attention to detail when working with interface layouts, small text, cursor movement, and brand guidelines. Ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate proactively, and deliver client-ready work with minimal supervision. Willingness to contribute to internal projects and learn new tools and techniques. U.S.-based and available to work full-time during Pacific Time business hours throughout the contract.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Cinema 4D or comparable 3D tools and workflows. Contract Details and Work Arrangement Contract duration: 6–8 weeks. Work arrangement: Remote within the United States. Schedule: Full-time availability during Pacific Time business hours. Potential opportunity to discuss a transition to a full-time staff position near the end of the contract, based on mutual fit and business needs. Application Requirements Applicants should submit a resume, portfolio or reel, location, availability, and contract rate. Applications should include relevant software product demonstration or UI animation examples, a brief description of each applicant's contribution to those projects, and confirmation of availability during Pacific Time business hours. This is a senior-level position. Entry-level portfolios and coursework alone do not meet the experience requirements.
