National Sales Director

🌍 Remote · United States 💼 Full-time

National Sales Director Rosemont Pharmaceuticals | United States | Philadelphia The National Sales Director will build and lead Rosemont’s flexible US field sales organization across pediatric and adult specialty portfolios. This leader turns product strategy into focused customer coverage, launch readiness and measurable execution, using internal leaders and contracted field capacity as the portfolio grows. The role reports to the Head of US Commercial. Role mandate Rosemont’s go to market model uses distinct pediatric and children’s hospital, adult specialty, pharmacy commercial and strategic account plays, supported by one shared commercial engine. The National Sales Director owns prescriber field execution and the performance of any contracted sales teams. The leader partners with the Pharmacy Commercial and Strategic Accounts leads on customer plans and local pull through. Field size, territory design and product assignments are released by launch and performance gates, rather than treated as a fixed national footprint. What this leader will do Build the national field plan for the pediatric and adult specialty modules, defining customer universes, call points, coverage levels, territory logic, manager spans and launch staffing in partnership with Commercial Operations and the Head of US Commercial. Lead launch preparation and in market execution across the portfolio. Establish readiness gates for hiring, training, CRM, approved materials, access, supply, pharmacy availability and patient support before deploying each field module. Select, onboard and govern a contract sales organization when used. Set service levels, field quality standards, reporting, coaching expectations, escalation routes, performance reviews and flex down or exit triggers; maintain Rosemont ownership of strategy and customer rules. Hire, develop and coach field leaders and representatives. Spend meaningful time in the field, assess customer interactions, certify product and compliance knowledge, build succession depth and act quickly on performance gaps. Translate brand plans into practical, product weighted call plans for children’s hospitals, pediatric specialists, adult neurology, PM&R, pain and other validated prescriber segments. Coordinate hospital and health system activity with Strategic Accounts so customers receive one coherent Rosemont plan. Work with Marketing and Omnichannel to connect live, virtual and digital engagement; use field insight to improve messages, channels and customer journeys within approved promotional boundaries. Review leading and lagging indicators by product, account, territory and team, including target reach, quality of engagement, account activation, access, stocking, first prescriptions, conversion, reorder and net sales. Explain variance and retarget resources based on evidence. Partner with Commercial Operations on CRM adoption, dashboards, forecasts, territory alignment, quotas and incentive design. Supply the field judgment and test whether proposed measures reward the right behavior; Commercial Operations owns the underlying analytics and systems. Coordinate with Market Access, Trade, Distribution, Pharmacy Commercial, Patient Services and Medical Affairs to surface and resolve access, fulfillment and clinical education barriers through the proper function and approved channels. Manage the field budget and a disciplined operating cadence of launch reviews, business reviews, partner governance and corrective actions. Ensure all promotion, interactions and data use comply with company policy and applicable requirements. Experience and capabilities Approximately 12 or more years in US pharmaceutical or biotechnology commercial roles, including substantial field sales leadership and at least five years leading managers or national or multi region teams. Equivalent evidence of scope is welcome. Multiple successful launches and experience building, resizing or transforming a field organization in a small or mid size company; demonstrated management of outsourced or hybrid sales teams strongly preferred. Experience with specialty prescribers, hospitals or health systems and complex account pathways; pediatric, CNS, neurology, or pharmacy activation experience is valuable, but no single therapy area is required. Strong command of targeting, territory design, CRM, sales performance analytics, forecasting and incentive principles; able to interpret data, challenge assumptions and make investment decisions without relying on activity volume alone. Outstanding people leadership, field coaching, partner management and cross functional influence. Comfortable making decisions with incomplete data and changing course when evidence changes. Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree helpful. Ability to travel nationally for field coaching, partner governance and customer engagement, approximately 40 to 60 percent as business needs require. Measures of success In the first year, success means launch ready field modules deployed at approved gates; strong manager and representative certification; reliable CRM and customer data; measurable reach and quality with priority customers; prompt resolution of access and fulfillment barriers; improved prescription and account performance relative to plan; and a clear case for scaling, reshaping or reducing each module based on incremental return.
